AGARTALA: The dawn-to-dusk 12-hour bandh on Monday called by the Tripura Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) to press for their various demands and protest for BJP-IPFT government’s alleged failure and mismanagement of COVID-19 evokes mixed response across the state
Clashes between supporters of Congress and the BJP were reported from different areas of the state . Stone pelting incidents were reported from different areas by supporters of both the parties.
Normal life was partially affected in the state on Monday due to the bandh.
Most of the shops and commercial establishments were closed and private vehicles were off the roads. However attendance in government offices and the civil secretariat was near normal.
To control the situation, Police also had to resort to mild lathi charge and some bandh supporters were arrested by police but later released.
