The ruling party defeated the Congress in most of the seats it won .<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Voting for the 36 constituencies of the&nbsp;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Tiwa_(Lalung)\" target=\"_blank\">Tiwa Autonomous Council<\/a>, spread across Nagaon, Morigaon, Hojai and Kamrup Metro districts in&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/thenewsmill.com\/northeast-india\/assam\/\">Assam<\/a>, took place on December 17.
