With investment commitments touching ₹4.28 lakh crore, the Advantage Assam 2.0 Summit, held in Guwahati on February 25–26, showcased the state’s growing appeal as an emerging economic and industrial hub. The summit focused on key sectors including industries, power, tourism, IT, health, and education.

Of the total commitments, ₹2.24 lakh crore came through MoUs, ₹5,821 crore was earmarked for MSMEs, ₹1.25 lakh crore was pledged by industry leaders, and ₹78,000 crore was directed towards government infrastructure projects. Additionally, the Assam Cabinet approved ₹1.22 lakh crore worth of projects for immediate implementation, signalling rapid on-ground execution.

In a major boost to the state’s industrial landscape, prominent corporates announced landmark projects. The Tata Group will set up a semiconductor manufacturing unit, while Reliance is planning to establish multiple AI centres across Assam. Among the most ambitious ventures is the GVR Group’s ₹2,000 crore Film City in Guwahati—a 500-acre, AI-driven integrated production facility capable of supporting content creation in 120 languages, aimed at transforming Assam into a global film production destination.

Leading conglomerates such as Adani, Tata Power, ONGC, Oil India, AMUL, PNB, and NRL also committed major investments across diverse sectors.

• Power: ₹66,287 crore
• Mines & Minerals: ₹13,600 crore
• IT & Digital Infrastructure: ₹4,786 crore
• Education: ₹3,901 crore
• Finance: ₹3,000 crore
• Health: ₹2,562 crore
• Tourism: ₹2,068 crore

Assam is also positioning itself as a new hub for concert tourism, with Guwahati and Dibrugarh emerging as promising destinations for large-scale music and entertainment events. These developments are expected to enhance both economic and cultural growth across the state.

With these strategic investments across industry, entertainment, tourism, and digital sectors, Assam is set to cement its place as a key player in India’s next phase of growth and innovation.
