Guwahati : Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal in presence of Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma ceremoniously inaugurated integrated DC office, Kamrup and dedicated it to the service of the people.
It may be noted that the integrated DC Office Kamrup built with the facilities of display room which will be called Kamrupa Bitrika, public facilitation centre, waiting area, IIT
Guwahati Corner, Aranyak Corner, SHG Corner, conference hall, creche, terrace garden, district training centre, library, food and civil supply branch, hargila corner along with others. The new office building constructed on 15 bigha of land which will house 13 departments.
Speaking on the occasion held at the DC office complex here, Chief Minister Sonowal said that the BJP led government in the state always believes in good governance and people’s welfare and with this intention, the new integrated DC Office, Kamrup has been built to render convenience to the people who come to the DC office for different works. He congratulated
the people belonging to Kamrup on this occasion and thanked Dr. Himanta Biswa Sharma for being instrumental in giving this integrated DC office in shape. He also said that in line with ‘ease of doing business’ the ‘ease of service delivery’ would be expedited with the help of this integrated DC Office. Sonowal also said that taking this integrated office building as a model, the same will be replicated elsewhere in the state.
Chief Minister Sonowal also said that human life has indomitable qualities and to bloom these qualities one needs to work hard. Hard work is the main criteria to have a good work culture. Stating that work culture is the mother of all culture, Sonowal said that the renewed development visible on all sectors of the state is the result of the changing work culture in the
state. Hailing the youths of the state, Sonowal said that of late it was seen that the youths by virtue of their diligence and dedication have attained self-sufficiency on different vocations.
He also attributed this as a step towards Atmanirbhar Assam. Speaking on the rich and powerful history and heritage of the state, the Chief Minister
said, “It is time to work hard and revive our rich heritage to make Assam one of the most developed in the country”. He on the occasion called upon the parents and teachers to inculcate good habits in their wards so that once they grow up they become assets of the society.
Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma while speaking on the occasion termed the inauguration an auspicious day. He said that the integrated new building apart from bringing people close to administration, would also lend convenience and speed in getting the works disposed. He said that though the new integrated building would include 13 departments under one roof, one more integrated building would be built in the district to encompass all the works departments within it. He also said that though the Office of the
Superintendent of Police would function from the old DC Office building from now onwards, a brand new SP Office building would be constructed in Kamrup very shortly. Moreover, a multi-level car parking would also be constructed and a garden with modern amenities would also be built adjacent to the new integrated office building of the district.
DC Kamrup Kailash Karthik N gave the welcome address in the programme which was attended among others by MLA Hajo Suman Haripriya, MLA Kamalpur Satyabrata Kalita, MLA Boko Nandita Das, Commissioner and Secretary GAD M.S. Manivannan, former DCs of the district and other dignitaries were present on the occasion.
