GUWAHATI: Health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has issued revised guidelines with some relaxations in its quarantine rule for people travelling to and from Assam via air or rail.

For persons entering Assam, if they carry a COVID negative certificate of RT-PCR test done at the place of origin within 72 hrs prior to coming , then such person need not get tested on arrival in Assam.

For persons travelling outside Assam, if they return within 24 hrs, such person will be exempted from testing and quarantine. Testing for Children below 10 yrs has been made voluntary on parent’s consent.
