Imphal, Sept 22 ,2020: Manipur education, labour and employment
minister Thokchom Radheshyam today interacted with cancer patients at
the Regional Cancer Centre of the centre-run Regional Institute of
Medical Sciences (RIMS) Imphal on the occasion of World Rose Day 2020.
World Rose Day is observed on 22nd September in the memory of
12-year-old Melinda Rose from Canada who was diagnosed with Askin’s
Tumour, a rare form of blood cancer and her efforts to bring cheer and
hope into the lives of other patients, even in the face of her own
disease.
Radheshyam, during the observance, said that doctors are like demigod
as they have a few great qualities different from others.
“Doctors did see, listen and feel what others didn’t and give their
best effort to take care of their patients during treatment,” he
added.
The minister further stated that ill people should be given utmost
care and love by all to imbibe strength, bring cheer and hope into
their lives.
“It is the doctors who devote most part of their life rendering
service in treatment of their patients,” said Radheshyam, a former IPS
officer.
He appealed the public not to blame the doctors, in case of
occurrence of any untoward incidents, despite sincere efforts and
attempts on their part.
Radheshyam presented roses and gifts to the cancer patient wishing for
their good health.
A short interaction between him and the post graduate students of the
Radiation Oncology Department followed the observance function,
whereby the minister gave certain motivating words to the students
and wished for their bright future.
