India’s trajectory of deaths due to the COVID-19 is now the worst in the world and is continuously rising, making it the country with the highest number of deaths.
On an average, over 1000 people have been dying of COVID-19 everyday over the past week in India. However, in other countries like US, Brazil and Mexico, the daily death trajectory is dropping.
So far, there have been a total of 75,062 deaths in India. With a total case load of 44,65,863, India’s fatality rate stands at 1.68% which is much less than the global average of 3.3%.
In India, Maharashtra has recorded the highest number of COVID-19 deaths with 27,787 persons succumbing to their infections, followed by Tamil Nadu at 8,090 and Karnataka at 6,808.
Assam has so far recorded 396 deaths.
